PROCESS

INITIAL MEETING & CONSULTATION

It is our pleasure to meet with you and begin to understand the needs and desires of your ADU search. In this meeting, we will begin to discuss your dreams and goals, and find the perfect home for your site that fits both your needs and property. Here we can help you specify any additional upgrades you may desire and provide you with an initial quote for cost and timeline. You can also meet with our lending partners to see what financing needs you may have.

This is also a fantastic time for us to answer any questions about our product, process, and anything else you may wish to know before committing to a design.

To help us better understand your needs and project, please fill out the New Client Form found on our contact page.

THE SITE VISIT

Following our initial consultation, we'll schedule a time for us to come out and inspect the physical site. This stage helps us to better understand any concerns and desires discussed in our preliminary discussion. Additionally, this inspection will allow us to catch any site-related obstacles that may hinder the project further down the line.

PERMITTING

After choosing us to lead your ADU project, we'll begin managing the permitting process. In doing so, the team at Signature ADU will prepare the documentation required by your jurisdiction, such as the site plan, erosion control plan and others. We act as the general contractor for your project.

CONSTRUCTION

Once the permits have been approved by your jurisdiction, our team can begin construction on your ADU. Here we begin the various stages of construction, sending out an on-site crew to install the foundation while the team back at the shop begin the pre-framing process.

The pre-framing process ensures a quick and controllable construction process, as the walls are assembled without dealing with negative site or weather related issues. This helps to ensure the accuracy of the assembly, creating a cleaner product in a shorter amount of time.

Once the foundation and floors are done these walls and other necessary materials are shipped to and installed on-site, creating a secure, enclosed structure in minimal time. From here the below elements are also finished in a full finish project. (Shell options are also available)

  • Mechanical, electrical and plumbing

  • Siding, roofing and sheet-rock

  • Interior finishes

  • Cabinets, trim and paint

  • Final cleaning of site and ADU

FINAL WALK-THROUGH

With construction finished, our team will complete a final walk-through to ensure our end-product meets your expectations. In this wrap-up meeting we'll hand over your keys and all relevant documentation.

Congratulations! You are now the owner of a wonderful Accessory Dwelling Unit that will enhance your home value and quality of life. Thank you for trusting us with your journey!
